How INFANT.ID technology supports governments, hospitals and institutions in identifying children from birth.

Project developed to support the Social Assistance Secretariat in providing services to children with special needs and in addressing under-registration, expanding access to civil identification, including in remote areas.

Customer: POLITECH / Legislative Assembly of the State of Mato Grosso

Sector: Civil Identification

Challenge: Capture, integrate and generate biometrics capable of identifying children aged 0 to 5 years for the issuance of a national identity card.

Solution: Implementation of the INFANT.ID™ kits

The state of Mato Grosso, like other Brazilian states, faced technical difficulties in biometrically identifying children aged 0 to 5 years, which compromised the issuance of civil identification documents. This challenge was exacerbated by the growing demand from the Social Assistance Secretariat for support for children with special needs.

With its vast territorial extension, Mato Grosso also faced the problem of under-registration of children, putting many families at risk, especially in remote areas. Civil identification in these regions became fundamental for the policy of combating violence and protecting the rights of vulnerable children.

To address this issue, the state’s forensic police, in partnership with other departments, conducted a rigorous technical evaluation by capturing biometric samples from babies and children in maternity hospitals in Cuiabá. After analyzing the biometrics, an official document was issued attesting to the quality and technical capability of capturing these biometric samples, allowing for the individualization of the children. With the official recognition, the state began purchasing equipment to supply 26 initial stations, with plans to expand to all identification stations in the state, including notary offices and accredited companies.

The INFANT.ID™ technology, integrated into the civil identification system of the state of Mato Grosso, follows the flow below.
